Frequently Asked Questions

How is reading time calculated?
We use a standard 200 words-per-minute reading rate and round up to the nearest minute. For technical reading you can mentally halve it; for skimming, double it.
How are SMS segments counted?
If your text fits the GSM 7-bit alphabet, one segment holds 160 characters (or 153 if split across segments). If any Unicode character is present (emoji, Arabic, Chinese, etc.), we switch to UCS-2 with 70/67 character segments.
Does Twitter still have a 280-character limit?
Yes, X/Twitter keeps the 280-character limit for standard accounts. Premium subscribers have a higher limit but 280 is still the most widely compatible target.
