Frequently Asked Questions
- Which image formats are supported?
- JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, and WebP (anything the exifr library supports). EXIF most commonly lives in JPEGs from cameras and phones.
- Is my photo uploaded to a server?
- No. Parsing and the optional strip-and-re-encode step both run entirely in your browser. The image never leaves your device.
- Does 'Strip EXIF' preserve image quality?
- The image is re-encoded via canvas at 95% JPEG quality or lossless PNG. Quality is near-identical; dimensions are unchanged.
